What sock material doesn't conduct static electricity?

I'm getting pretty tired of the bottom of my slacks being covered in hair and lint. I'm guessing this is happening because my socks rubbing against my pants creates static electricity.

Any idea how to stop this from happening?

Update:

Just to clarify, the only part of my pants that gets dirty is where my sock is in contact with them. From my shins up I never have lint and hair sticking to them.

Static in fabrics will happen more with synthetic materials like polyester and acrylic and also some wool items, and less with good ol' cotton. I'm guessing that if static is sticking things to your pants that they are part of the problem as well. More simply stated, natural materials are generally less staticy.
