If i am taking care of my child half the time would I still have to pay full child support?

It does not seem fair to me if we both make the same income that I would need to pay full child support to my x if my child is spending equal time between us.

It depends on your state's laws.

In my state, a primary residential parent is identified even when custody is divided 50/50. The other parent can request a $0 child support order or a downward deviation of child support - but this can only be granted if the other parent is earning enough to meet all the financial needs of the child.

That is something the court decides, if you are sharing 50/50 physical custody then it is unlikely a court would expect or order only one to pay child support and the other parent not to

You signed up for it when you whipped it out and played with it. That's how it works.
