How to convince parents to keep piggies in room?

I have two 10 month old female guinea pigs. My mum says I have to keep them in the "dining room" but I want to make them feel like they're a part of the family. Nobody really goes in the dining room because we don't usually eat in there unless it's a special occasion. The only time the guinea pigs are around humans is when someone walks past, or when I take them to my room to play. They seem a lot brighter and happier in my room, so I asked my mum if I could perhaps keep them in there with me. I'm in there all the time except when I eat or if I'm at school, but as soon as I'm finished with those I'm right back up there again. My mum said "I don't care how clean it is, I don't want them up there." But that's what she said when I got my gerbils. They lived a long life since I convinced her to let me keep them in my room. But I don't think it'll work again with the guinea pigs. I know how to keep them from smelling, but keep them warm at the same time. But I don't know how to convince my parents to let me have them up here with me. Please help. Thanks. :)

To convince them you first need to find out what the objection is - sit down and have a mature conversation with your mom about it (mature means no whining!). Once you understand why she objects, you can figure out how to overcome that. At this point you have no idea, so there is nothing we can suggest that might help you. Good luck!

Just keep them in your room and tell her when says something, you forgot. Keep doing it until she gives up.
