What's the best way to take a professional looking photo of my pet cockatiel?
My mom is taking a painting class and wants me to take a picture of my pet cockatiel so she can paint him in class. I've been having problems taking a picture of him (full body pic) to give her so she can paint him. What are some tips to use to try to get a really good pic? His wings aren't clipped so I have to keep him inside the house for the picture and he has a really cool markings on his back that I wanted to try to get in the picture along with his face. He's a pied cockatiel who is very shy (rescue pet)

It some times takes a 1000 shots to get one good one.
Don't expect to get a good shot the first time you try.
When is the best time of day for the Bird to be active?
What does he like. My bird likes loud up beat music. He dances and chirps along with show tunes.
Have the right lighting in the room. Know how to use your camera for close up shots. Have the camera on hand by the bird at all times to grab a candid shot. Snap away. Take as many shots as possible

If you don't have a professional camera, try and use a decent camera with good lighting in the room. Take multiple shots and choose the best looking ones. Filters may help. If she could see the dog in person, if possible, that would probably be the best option. Maybe take a video as well so she can see all of the dogs features that may not be captured well in still pictures.
