Should I continue with this?

I've been doing colorguard since freshman year, and this season, I made jv captain. My problem is, I don't feel as passionate about it as I used to. My mom wants me to continue with it, and I know she'll get over it, but I don't want to do it anymore. I can't quit now because the season started, but I don't want to continue with it and I feel like I can barely survive this season. Any advice??

Maybe try talking to your coach about your feelings. Tell them that you aren't really feeling as passionate as you used to about it. It's always better to let them know what's going on instead of keeping that information from them. I'd say to keep with it for this season though (I had the band director leave my school early in the season and it wasn't fun to have a figure of authority step down before the season was done), since your team needs a good leader. But make sure you talk to a coach or instructor because they can help you decide the best choice for you. Don't stick with colorguard after this year if you don't want to, but you don't have to make a decision right away. I'd say to finish out the season and if you still aren't feeling it, then do something else you like :)
