Life expectancy for Advanced Prostate Cancer?

My grandad is 85 years old and has Prostate Cancer. He has been suffering back pains for a couple months now and the cancer is spreading. He has had cancer for around 2 years. How long do you think he has left? He is starting radiotherapy next week to ease the pain. He also is starting to develop dementia.

That radiation therapy I bet is palliative, not curative. Expect he will have some clots in his legs or lungs and that will be the thing that takes him suddenly. Or a heart attack. No one can really know at his advanced age as to how it will happen, but this sounds ominous to me.
