TurboTax Refund Question?
This will sound stupid, but I just want to be completely sure. On TurboTax there is a green number on the left hand side that says "$704 federal refund in progress". Does that mean I am receiving this money, or that I pay them this amount? Just trying to be sure, because I owed money when I tried this the first time.

It means that based on the info you've entered so far the IRS is going to send you $704.
But, that is an estimate based on the info you've entered so far. If you have more tax forms to enter, the amount could go down before you're finished. So don't worry about the number until everything is entered.

first of all, TT can't tell you when you will get a refund, if all things proceed normally with the process at IRS(and TT does NOT work for IRS) even the people at IRS cannot tell you when you will get a refund
so if you have accessed the 'where's my refund' at www.irs.gov and this message says your return is being processed you can be reasonably assured your return is in the works and you will get your refund when it is completed

Neither. IF you are done entering everything and have done it correctly, it would be the amount you'd get for a refund. If you still have more to enter, it means absolutely nothing.

That is your ESTIMATED refund based on the information entered up to now. It is NOT accurate until ALL information has been entered.
