Cable Advice Switching carriers?

I currently have Verizon with my phone internet and tv. I'm paying $135 a month.

Recently I got a flier in the mail for Comcast with the same thing at about $85 with a $200 gift card.

I have always had trouble getting the Comcast to show up at my house and install my stuff.

Do you think it's a good idea to wait until Comcast shows up and installs before I kick Verizon to the curb and cancel my Verizon account?

Only you can answer that question. If you cancel Verizon, you won't have any TV or Internet until Comcast arrives and sets it all up.

Some things to watch out for. How long is that Comcast offer good for? How long is the contract? Once the $85 rate expires, what will be the price? For example, if the contract is for 2 years, what will be the total cost over a 2 year period, including the gift card? How does that stack up with the cost of the devil that you do know with Verizon? Have you called Verizon to see if they are willing to match the deal or beat it? If the fist person that you speak to can't help, politely ask to speak to a supervisor.
