Low disk space when creating zipped folder?

I m trying to move about 300 video files into a zipped folder in preparation for emailing them. However, the operation always fails because of low disk space (I assume because I m asking a lot of the system).

I regularly run disk cleanups and whatnot, so what do I do to get those videos zipped? Or if you have another solution for sending them via email, let me know.

Thanks!

If you want to zip all these files you would need to allow for triple the amount of disk space on your hard drive that the files currently take up in order to zip the files. Instead of trying to zip all these files into one file you could try zipping one hundred files at a time and see if you have the disk space for that operation.

Also I would not try sending this zipped file via email as most email system do not allow sending large files. Yahoo does not allow sending over 25 meg of files. I would upload the files to Dropbox and send a link to the files, instead of the files themselves.

Video files are already compressed. You will get nothing out of zipping them. You will have to put them onto a USB drive and post it.

Don't zip them, 7z them. Download 7zip, this provides the most compression. It cuts the file size in half!
