I would like to go to China. But I do not want to have to leave after a year. I want to stay for longer. Can I get a 10 year Tourist visa?

Update:

All of you are wrong! The ANSWER is YES! China and the USA are now offering 10 year Tourist, Friends and Family, and Business Visas. I have one now. These Visas are to make it easier for people to travel, see friends and do Business. It amazes me that you all Think you know so much. Rather than playing a juvenile game of finger pointing, why didn't you simply offer up the info. Rules change all the time, it doesn't mean you willfully post a question for the single purpose of insulting people.

You also posted a question for the sole purpose of answering it. Bit immature, don't you think?

Yes Americans to obtain 10-year, multiple-entry visas to China... multiple-entry is the key it certainly doesn't mean you can remain any longer in China than the normal tourist visa days per year, just that you have the visa already purchased for 10yrs so if you go on holiday to China each year for eg 2 weeks then you don't need to apply each time for a new tourist visa to do so.... this visa doesn't allow you to remain in China for 1 year or more, that is called living in China and needs a completely different visa to a tourist visa

    NO

Most TOURISTS do not have enough money for a ten year Vacation.

Tourists VISIT they do not move in.

There are other visas you could try for.

The Visa is Valid for Ten years. You cannot stay there for the entire ten year Period.

    READ your own link

It's now possible for Americans to obtain 10-year, multiple-entry visas to China. Each entry is good for up to 60 days.

You have an L Visa. It is not automatic. You ASK for it.

10 year visas are multiple-entry. You cannot remain longer than 180 days in any 365-day period. In fact, you are unlikely to be allowed more than 60-90 days on any one entry, and have to depart for at least as long as you were in the country.

You cannot even remain for one year on a multiple-entry tourist visa. To remain for a maximum of one year, no tourist visa allows that. You would have to qualify for a different type of visa to remain for up to one year.

    How dumb

a 10 year visa does not mean you can stay 10 year

it just means you can enter multiple times over 10 years ..the max stay being 180 days each time .. then you have to stay out for a minimum 180 days
