Is this reason to be excused from jury duty?

Update:

My apologies, I didn't enter the 2nd part.

My mother only got released from the hospital a couple of weeks ago, and due to financial circumstances, we couldn't afford an in-home nurse of any kind. She had open heart surgery and was on a ventilator for 2 weeks, stayed in the surgical ICU for another week, went to rehab for another week, and has only been home for a couple of weeks now. I am essentially her 24 hr caretaker for the time being. If I didn't need to stay home and take care of (1)

Update 2:

(2) her, I would have absolutely no issues attending. And I certainly intend on showing up the first day. But if I could bring documentation of her having been through this, and mention that I am basically her caretaker, would I be excused from jury duty for the time being?

No but that question is an excuse from jury duty.
