Why the hatred toward JW?

I have noticed a certain despise toward all JW for the actions of the minority of them? I understand the open abuse cases and hope they are taking care of, but they are not all guilty. If one member of a family is a murderer is the whole family murders? Every organization tries to cover these things up, from Penn State to the Boy Scouts. But not every professor at Penn State is guilty nor is every troop master in the Boy Scouts. People seem to have a personal grudge against them and it doesn't seem fair. Judge the individual, not the organization.

    We expect it.

Jesus said that his true followers would be hated by the majority just as he was. He said that they would persecute us, hate us, lie about us and bring false charges against us.

We certainly know this to be true. Jesus also said to be happy when people ridicule us and hate us.

Are Jehovahs Witnesses a happy and united people? Indeed we are, even after bans on our ministry in many lands and persecutions of every kind--- we remain joyful and relish the fact that we are persecuted for a good reason. When we withstand it and endure it all, we are confident that Jehovah and his Son are with us through all the trials we face while living in these last days.

Objecting to something and disagreeing with it does not constitute hating the people.

Actually, the criticisms you see here are nothing compared to what's on youtube and twitter. It's all over the social media. It has gone viral.

Don't tell me that you haven't been reading what's on other social media or watching the youtube videos? If not, you must be a Jehovah Witness and have information restricted for you.

From what I've read about the cases where some Jehovah's Witnesses have been found guilty of child sex abuse, the concern is directed at the organization, specifically the Governing Body, who have issued instructions to the Elders to keep these things private, and not to disclose any information to the police or to the courts.

The Governing Body has published a book for Elders entitled Shepherd the Flock of God and has also sent out letters to all Elders instructing them to deal with these matters internally.

That is what the outrage is about - failing to protect children by allowing known child abusers to remain in the congregation - or to reinstate known child abusers if they repent and promise never to do it again. The parents of children are never informed about the risks, or even the outcome of any internal investigations - only that it has been dealt with.

I certainly don't hate Jehovah's Witnesses - but I think the Governing Body should be held accountable for their deplorable track record in failing to prevent children from being abused by known sex offenders.

When a large number of a group doesn't see anything wrong with Victim shamming calling posts like this fake, lies and so forth http://news.yahoo.com/jehovahs-witnesses-pay-13-5-...

of course people will see it as a problem.

I didn't like it when they came into my home and during several bible studies the Catholic Church was brought up and I could say it was pure hate now as a non Catholic I thought that was rude and was pointless to do of them. Now on here you have several that post about the Catholic Church and deny that abuse has ever happened but that is not true it has happened. I don't care what religion you are abuse is never okay to sweep under a rug or defend.

    Edit

Some JW are saying it is to be expected!

So you expect people to not ignore sexual abuse or the victims stepping forward to shed light on this matter that has gone unchecked for several reasons. They feel persecuted for all the wrong reasons and comments as the ones posted exhibit just that.

How can one relish at the idea of feeling persecuted over people exposing such things?

This makes me think of the early childhood courses I had to take and we had to go over child abuse and the procedures to report suspected abuse. It was our responsibility to make sure it was reported so the right people could investigate such as child protective services and the police department. I remember how one lady threw up after seeing a photo of a child that was force feed and another one that was punched in the abdominal repeatedly that the little ones belly was swollen , and another one who was burned by boiling hot water. . I don't give a care really what your religion is I am not going to ignore abuse and accept your plea to consider such things as lies and false.

If we take religion out of the mix and many are capable of doing that what you have left is individuals who refuse to acknowledge, believe their is abuse going on, or people who truly believe it does get handled. Unfortunately that is not the case its not getting handled the way it should be. Abuse is an epidemic and needs to be addressed.

"Other organizations have also tried to cover up child sexual abuse scandals, so why would anyone object if we did it too?" Seriously?

Anyway, the thing JWs are most disliked for is their habit of intruding on people in their homes and their behavior here - regurgitating large blocks of text from the Watchtower instead of actually answering questions, and asking fake 'questions' designed for proselytization, which are then answered by other JWs or the asker's other account.

It seems like a lot of people who aren't Jehovah's Witnesses think they know everything there is to know about JW's. I wonder why that could be? Perhaps it's because they are familiar with some things, but add to it to make JW's look or seem like they are all abusive when they aren't. I think someone, namely, the first person who responded has a person grudge against JW's. Maybe he or she was disfellowshipped for their unrepentant wrongdoing and now are trying to turn everyone against Jehovah's people.

JW's await an early king who is supposed to rule in an earthly kingdom.

When antichrist is presented by Jews in a few years, JW's will accept him.

    It's actually a big tragedy.

There are some ex-JWs here. I don't blame them for being angry or calling out stupid things their former religion does-- but some of the bashing from other Christians goes overboard. I've seen them laugh about dead JW's and say Hitler got one thing right.

I don't "hate" the Jehovah's Witnesses. I just don't like it when they come to my door to try to convince me that my belief in God and Jesus Christ is wrong because I don't believe as they do. And I don't like it when the LDS guys do it either. I disagree with most of their theological positions but it doesn't place hatred in my heart for them.

    Because it was prophesied.

    See: 2 Timothy 3:12, Matthew 24:9, John 15:18, & 2 Peter 2:1.

when the WTS scam their own members [mandatory purchase of flyers] by printing megatons of flyers and the pretext that naive members will be save thru their weekly door to door sales, one has to point out the errors of jw elders... businessmen in new york.
