What does auxillary mean?

Tomarrow I have to take a test at school and we have two gyms. One is called the new gym and the old gym and it told me to go to the auxillary gym. Would that be the old gym or new gym?

    It would probably the old gym. In this sentence, auxillary means "back-up gym," not the main gym that they use for the big games.

    It's the one that's not the main gym. Auxiliary means "helper" -- so it's the extra gym, the one that plays a subordinate role to the main one.

    So it depends on whether the old or new one is now considered the main one.
