What is a thesis/claim for "Narative of the life of Fredrick Douglas"??

Also who is the intended audience and what is fredricks purpose in this narrative?? Please help

    You mean "what is Douglass's purpose." You refer to historical figures by their surnames, not their given names.

    Or were and little Freddie personal friends down on the ol' plantation 200 years ago?

    Everything done to a person held in slavery, or done "for" him or her was designed to keep them ignorant, shameful, downtrodden and subservient in order to preserve the way of life for the slaveholder.
