Accidental acetaminophen overdose?
I was taking Percocet 5/325 & had no idea that APAP meant acetaminophen. What I was doing was taking Tylenol (2 extra strength pills), then taking 2 of the Percocets if the Tylenol didn't work (which was 90% of the time). I was doing this every 4-6 hours depending on my pain level. I did keep track of everything (only because I'm taking a tapered dose of Prednisone as well, so thank goodness for that) & I never went over 5,000mg a day for 4 days. This is still a a lot & I was worried, so I called Poison Control. They said I should be fine as long as I have a decently healthy liver (had my liver function checked in September & it was fine). My last dose of anything containing acetaminophen was Friday at 3:30pm. It's now Tuesday at 9:20am, am I probably in the clear? I do have some soreness in my upper right abdomen, but I've had that before (reason for the liver function test in September) without acetaminophen. I have diarrhea as well, but I have occasional bouts of diarrhea occasionally & it's normal for me. I'll make an appointment with my doctor who can examine me but until they open at noon, I'm asking here. :)

That amount of acetaminophen would not be dangerous or toxic. However, the abdominal discomfort you described could very well be an adverse reaction to the prednisone which is notorious for causing GI problems. It's entirely variable and what's a totally normal dose for some people can cause major stomach upset in others. But as you didn't give any details on your dosage or how long you'd taken it, that you'll need to discuss with your doc.
