Body shaming?

Just me that is totally fed up of body shaming? Particulary on social media, why do girls feel the need to put someone else down to feel better about their own bodies? Things like "Real men like curves, only dogs go for bones" actually infuriates me. People just need to accept that every woman is different and being thinner or thicker than someone else does not make you better than them! Women come in all shapes and sizes and every single one is beautiful, unique and perfect.

Well, yes. The problem is the notion that the ONLY thing about any of us is our looks, and, as you point out, people vary a lot in their bodies.

What you're seeing is a backlash, due to the shaming of not looking like magazine models (who literally starve most of the time, and get surgery, to look as they do).

You can't solve a problem by keeping it's fundamentals, and just reversing the direction of the problem.

And the PROBLEM is that women are seen as BODIES, and too many accept the sick assumption that we exist ONLY as decoration.

The completely insane standards have led to epidemic levels of body image disorders and eating disorders. Girls are killing themselves.

    You're 100% right.

You know what gets me though? It seems to be women who do it more than men, does it not? I would think as a woman you'd know better than that. It really just goes to show how deeply ingrained this stuff is. We all get the same messages, we all see the same media, we all live in the same society. Even women do it to other women. Make no mistake, women objectify one another maybe as much as men do. Not idealize, objectify. There's a difference. It just goes to show how badly this needs to change.

Dude skinny girls are nasty, but that's my opinion. I don't see anyone standing up when men's body's are shamed. People are entitled to their opinions.

I hear you! I think it's so shallow to talk about another's body and ignore the person who lives in that body.

Some fat women don't even have curves.
