California Unemployment question?

I was laid off by a business recently and moved to another area in state to try and find better work. The previous business called up offering me another position but it's too far away to commute now. Since they offered me a job, does that mean that I cannot collect unemployment now even though I can't take it because of travel distance?

    in most cases, if you deny work offers, then your UI benefits would be cancelled ; in your case, the EDD would probably make an exception due to the distance.......you would really only know if you contacted them via email ( PS - don't know if you are aware, but you will only get 26 weeks of UI benefits, due to no extensions since 12/13 )

    This is not a simple question to answer, since whether a commuting distance is excessive depends upon many factors including the number of possible jobs with a shorter commute. Here is the EDD's discussion:
