How much per hour do you feel I should be making at this work from home job? ( Details below )?

I work as a call center rep, my title is Career Service Specialist. I basically answer calls and inquiries all day long, matching graduates to jobs, and assisting them with applications, resumes, and cover letters etc. I also give interview tips and advice. I live just outside Chicago and provide all of my own office equipment except my company provides the typical call center headset. I am full time.

The problem with work from home jobs is that you get paid less than you would doing the exact same job in an office setting. Truthfully, because the employer can argue that you'd get more work done in an office than from home. If you were doing this job in an office, I would say you'd probably deserve $23-$25 an hour. From home, more like $14-$17 an hour.

HR would probably calibrate this kind of role at $15-$17 per hour, but if I were calibrating it, I would say you ought to get paid by the quality and effectiveness of your advice. If all you're doing is pointing people to different resources, then I would say $14/hr would be fair.

If you actually have high quality industry experience in the field of studies about which you're advising and the students love you and think you're super helpful, I would pay you $30/hr or more.
