Many production-line manufacturing are fully automated: especially where chemical is involved. They sense the product and adjust amount of chemical needed to add; includes, bakery, paper mill, and battery charge. Partially would require a human adjustment or selection. Usually this involves a conveyor belt and people pick out items, such as a shipping facility, or mail. Primary manual is when a human judgement or critial safety factor is necessary; sometimes welding, removing rough edges from metal or plastic, medical procedures.
