Using the standardised ISO standard of religious intensity in the vicinity of Rome, I would estimate it's now about 15 Wazzocks, whereas in the past it was closer to 3.

Ancient religion is more intense. Then you could not say God loves everyone and be a homosexual. Today, you can in pretty much religion. It has been accepted. Now this does not mean that I accept gay marriage. But this is an example how religion and how the churches today have eased up on how to live compared to then. Back then if a woman was caught in adultery she was stoned to death... that doesnt happen anymore.
