My chest has been getting pain. Any answers?
Hello. Recently I have been having sharp chest pains in the center. I am 6'5" and 200 pounds. Im only 18 years old. When i was 16, i was much over weight. Im in good shape now, but the pain lately is annoying. Im wondering if since i was overweight before if symptoms can still stick with me. If anybody knows what the pain is, try to let me know. Or if i can have a heart attack from when i was overweight.

Normally in case of a heart heart the pain is on the left side and includes the shoulder though. You may have also inflammation of the chest wall/sternum - no treatment for that it takes weeks to resolve, or a pulled muscle. It could also be acid reflux. If you're worried you should get a heart ECG to confirm your heart is OK. There are of course tons of other potential causes, but the ones I gave are the most common IMO.

Sounds like a problem with the esophagus, do you have acid reflux? Or are you eating foods that are causing you "heart burn"
Having a lot of fat around the gut can put pressure on the stomach and force stomach contents into the esophagus at night when you are sleeping, are you waking with a burning sensation or bad taste in your mouth. When the stomach contents are forced back into the esophagus, the lining becomes damaged and causes pain.
Heart pains are NOT sharp but dull and often accompanied by shortness of breath.
