Quick Trig Identities question (Pre-calculus)?
So I know that cos^2x + sin^2x = 1
If I have cos^2 2x - sin^2 2x , would that equal 1 too?
(The ^2 are supposed to be exponents)

No.
cos^2(2x) + sin^2(2x) = 1 but not cos^2(2x) - sin^2(2x).
The simplest form cos^2(2x) - sin^2(2x) could reduce to is cos(4x).
