Christians, Pagans and Atheist: (why or why not), should we love Jesus Christ?

Christians who believe in Jesus as the Christ love him for one very profound reason - his love for us. "We love because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19). We love him because he is worthy of our love. "Hands that flung stars into space, to cruel nails surrendered" (Graham Kendrick, The Servant King). Our sins nailed him to that cross. Yet while we were still sinners, he died for us.

"You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless,Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:6-8).

Pagans and Atheists fail to grasp the fact that even though they do not believe in Jesus, even though they reject and despise him, nonetheless Jesus still loves them. He loves them so much he suffered and died so they too can receive a free pardon and avoid the eternal consequences of rebellion against God.

Judging from the majority of answers you have received, it is clear that some people despise and detest Jesus, and others think he never existed. They are at liberty to reject Jesus as the Christ, to spit in his face as the Romans did and to heap abuse on him. But they will have to answer for it, one day. However, even the most hardened atheists have been brought to saving faith, and while there is life, there is still hope that some will yet turn to God before it is too late.

You were created not for yourself but for him! Any way it's for more reasons than that I suppose mainly infinite human corruption and hard hearted unbelief and non devotion and repentance, you see if you reject Jesus Christ and deny him into your heart all you are doing is accepting infinite human corruption and self worship and servitude as well as worship of evil and evil things. Now how would an infinitely intellectual god as father son and holy sprit judge and punish a person like that.. Why with the most efficient punishment possible of course, infinite damnation.

Let's review your question to show how silly it is. Christians love Jesus, because they are his followers. If they didn't love him, they wouldn't follow him. Pagans don't know who Jesus is, so how can they love someone they never heard of ? Atheists are people that refuse to believe that Jesus is God's son, so it's safe to say, they don't love him. Did you think before you wrote your question ? I don't think you did.

    1. No evidence exists which confirms that such a person even existed.

    2. Even if we assume Jesus did live, reason would tell us that he's dead and gone, and has been for a very long time. Loving the distorted memory of a long dead icon is dangerous, and borders on stupid.

If you are a Christian you should, for pagans and atheists the question has no meaning.

Apparently we should love Jesus Christ because if we don't, he'll have us tortured forever:

"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not SHALL BE DAMNED." - Jesus Christ, Mark 16:16

    Such love.

Jesus, if he existed at all, is a dead human being. Despite claims from the religious, we know next to nothing about him, let alone what he said and did. I have no more reason to worship Jesus than I do one of my great, great, great (insert 97 more greats here) grand parants (and for all I know, one of them was Jesus!).

For starters, there is no other name under Heaven, given among men whereby we must be Saved. If He paid my sin debt with his life, how can I not love Him?

I find it a waste of time to form emotional ties to something that I don't believe in.
