    More plants

    1 male + 2 female honey gouramis

5-7 Cory cats of the same species

    7-8 peaceful schooling fish

    a handful of cherry shrimp

    My choices would be:

    - glowlight tetras

    - rosy tetras

    - black phantom tetras

    - harlequin rasboras

    - neon tetras

If you are looking for smaller fish, you could consider getting ember tetras or hengeli rasboras.

    What I don't recommend is:

    - very active species (e.g. zebra danios and such, rainbowfish)

    - nippy species (no seprae tetras, tiger barbs &co.)

    - well known shrimp murderers (e.g. cherry barbs)

    +1 concern:

How are you planning to feed your shrimp?

Most shrimp eat leftover fish food, decaying plant matter and some algae. Commercial shrimp food is high protein, slowly dissolving pellet food ALL the fish love. (And watching honey gouramis think with all their might how they can make the pellets fit their mouth/pick apart the damn things is tremendous fun.) But it's quite possible that not much will be left for your shrimp. So if you have at least some basic lights, it would be a good idea to add some Marimo balls for your shrimp. It's a very low light, low maintenance plant, but it's great for catching teeny-tiny food particles and bits of algae so shrimp love marimo balls.

Look up small schooling fish on the internet. You're getting to the point where you're over crowding yor tank. Which is your choice? You'll just have unhealthy fish and nasty water. I have a big 40 gallon and I can't only have 2 fish before its overcrowded.

    I think

    2 honey gouramis

    3 Cory catfish

    7 neon tetras

And maybe like 7 cherry chimp :) good luck
