Los Angeles Metro Info?

Hello, I am visiting the Los Angeles area Torrance to be exact. I saw that they sell week passes or day passes for the buses. So I assume the if i buy a day pass or a week pass they are good for all of the regualar city busses of LA Metro throughout the whole LA county from downtown LA, Glendale, Downey, Hollywood, Pasadena, to Orange County area? I know the rails and the express busses have their own fees. Where can i buy a day pass or a week pass. Can you buy them from the bus driver? I am from SF. Thanks

Update:

I will be planning to go from Torrance to USC ,UCLA, also from Torrance to Pasadena , and Orange County.

Update 2:

Redondo Beach is exatly the location where I am now.

No, your pass will not work on all transit. Torrance and Pasadena are in LA County but have separate metro systems. Also, OC is the OCTA not MTA.

Additionally, Torrance is not a great place to stay if you need to use mass transit. There is no rail system so it will take an EXTREMELY long time to get around. Pasadena is 2hr 15m by mass transit to Torrance. It seems you are on a campus tour. If UCI is one of the stops it's about 4 hours by transit. A drive which would be less than an hour by car.

Well if you are down in Redondo Beach, try a Ralphs supermarket or check cashing place like Western Union.

I bought my day pass from there (ELA), having it loaded on my tap card. Here are some other places below. You can take MTA 232 from Redondo Beach, or 3 MTA buses east on Artesia Blvd. to the Harbor Gateway Transit Ctr.
