refund on credit card?

I ordered some hair products online, but shipping ended up being delayed for about 3 weeks. When i finally was able to get in contact with the company for a refund, my credit card bill had already paid in full.

How will the refund show up in my account, when i already paid the bill and a new month has started?

I'll make up some numbers to make the explanation easier. Let's say the refund is $60. You will end up with a $60 credit on your next bill. If you charged $100 in that month, the bill will show $100 in charges minus the $60 credit, leaving a $40 balance that you owe.

If you have a $100 credit from the refund and you only charge $20 that month, you will end up with an $80 credit balance on your statement. You can let this roll over to the next month, or you can call your credit card company and ask for a check to be issued for the $80.

this happens frequently. the credit will be issued onto the same card it was charged to. the credit will show on the next bill. if you have other charges at that time, they will reduced by that credit amount. if you have no charges on that card you will have a credit balance that will sit there until the monies are respent in some way. if after 90 days the monies were not spent, the card issuer will be sending you a check for the amount left.
