Has Christianity Failed?
ABOUT a third of the earth’s population claim to be Christian. Yet, the world seems more politically divided and more violent than ever before. Does this mean that Christianity as Jesus taught it is somehow flawed? Or, rather, does the flaw exist in the way many people apply Christ’s teachings?
It may come as a surprise to some that Jesus actually said that his followers should be “no part of the world, just as [he was] no part of the world.” (John 17:15, 16) Why would Christ encourage his disciples to take such a stand? Jesus’ beloved disciple the apostle John provided an answer. He wrote: “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.”—1 John 5:19.
Hence, Christ’s teachings direct people, not to human entities, but to the heavenly Kingdom of God as the agency that will create a just and righteous world here on earth. (Matthew 6:10) Jesus himself did not show the slightest inclination to interfere with the social structure of his day. He rejected political office outright. (John 6:15) He also rejected violence as a way of settling disputes. (Matthew 26:50-53; John 18:36) Jesus left behind no constitution or canon of civil laws. He took no political stand on the issues of his day. For instance, he did not become an activist for the rights of slaves, nor did he involve himself in the struggle of the Jewish people against Rome.

"Yet, the world seems more politically divided and more violent than ever before."
Actually it is not. Despite the activities of ISIL / ISIS the degree of violence has no match to that of the Mongol invasions, the Wars of Religion, the Napoleonic Wars, the Taiping Rebellion, or World Wars 1 and 2.
The British suffered 60,000 casualties (killed and wounded) on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, 1 July 1916. The Germans had fewer, but a comparative number. British casualties over the entire battle, which lasted until November 1916 were more than 623,000. At the battle of Fromelles 19-20 July 1916, the Australians alone had 5,533 casualties.
The casualties at Stalingrad in 1942 - 43 are almost beyond belief.

The question as I see it, asks Has Christianity Failed, my answer is yes it has.
The true followers of Jesus and his teachings where called disciples, (John 8:31), brothers and sisters, mothers, (Matthew 12:48-50), servants, (John 12:26), and friends (John 15:14). All these terms Jesus used to describe his true followers where used to describe only those that did exactly as Jesus told them God the Father wanted them to do. Jesus Never referred to any of those that followed his teachings as Christians.
To be a Christian (Acts 11:26) means that you follow the Traditions and Doctorines of men, such as Peter, Paul, James, Timonthy, Moses, the Prophets, and the churches.
Jesus did not tell you to follow Peter or Paul,or the churches, Jesus told you to follow His WORDS, (HIS WORDS)
Division within the Christian religions as in all religions is an abomination that maketh desolate. It was religion that caused the Jews own self-righteousness to kill Jesus.
Brother shall kill brother, sister, mother and father because the self-righteousness of religions have reached it's point of creating desolation.
Jesus built the only Church acceptable to God, and while we are still on the earth there was only supposed to be ONE TEACHER, and he said the WORDS written in John 5:37 and John 6:32
Jesus said,
"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"
Luke 6:46 (KJV)

Not really a question, but we were not created for an eternity on Earth but for an eternity in Heaven. The world will succumb to sin, which is validated by the Bible.
Charley Littlebrain proves yet again to be the biggest troll here. Hyperbole is his tactic of choice. He can't back up anything he says, and his bitterness shows through his smarmy comments.

I would look at 1500 years of Xtian history to see how they've spread junior's message.
Apart from the torture, imperialism, genocide, rape, land and resource theft, slavery, invasion, scorched earths, kidnapping, pedophilia, exterminations, apartheid, segregation, bigoted legislation, persecution, totalitarianism, plutocracies, Holocaust and other ethnic cleansings - they've done a reasonable job of Mark 12:31 dontcha think?

Yes, and Christians are beginning to figure it out.
Strangely enough, it is the TEACHINGS of Jesus (as opposed to the lies and colorful stories about him) that will replace the present "church age". Jesus didn't believe in God. He was more of a Pantheist type atheist

Violence is not focused in the Christian areas.
Most of current turmoil is in the middle east.
These countries are mostly Islamic.
