That is worrying because the Sun is very dangerous to look at. I have occasionally been hit by the glare of the Sun by accident and instinctively closed my eyes and looked away. I saw a bright spot in my eye even with my eyes closed but that went away after just a few minutes. To still have this problem after so many hours means you have definitely damaged your eyes. Whether this damage is permanent or temporary I don't know but I strongly recommend you see an optician as soon as possible.

Did you not realize you should not look directly at the sun? It can damage your vision.

Best bet is to see an eye doctor.... get an opinion.

And, *never* stare at the sun again.

Probably. Direct sunlight irradiation can damage the retinal nerves, often permanently.

Source(s): But there is hope. I went neurologically blind in 2012 and now have 20/25 vision, sort of.
