Quick question , neons on cardinal tetras?
K so I have a 29 gallon aqarium with three fancy tailed guppies and two cory catfish in it I have been researching a lot about these fish and I am going later today to the fish store but I can't choose,, I have bad neons before and I'm really nervous to get them cause mine all died of the neon disease so that's what I'm worried about for them and the cardinals we'll they are super sensitive and I don't want to buy them and have them die on me :/ so can someone please let me know which fish I should chose or should I get just guppies or a different tetra.... I was really likening the neons and cardinals colour ... But anyway thanks hope to hear ASAP :)!!

I would avoid tetras altogether. They can be rotten fin nippers to guppies and will stress them out. If you're getting them for the bright shiny colour, I would suggest endlers. They get to be about the same size as neons and cardinals, and have the shiny colour effect to their bodies. Do not take a risk, or you could loose all your guppies

I actually have found cardinals to be less sensitive than neons. They will accept higher pH than neons, for instance.
Make sure your pH is good, make sure to quarantine them in a separate, cycled tank for at least 2 weeks, and then see how they do.

If you have a healthy tank, buy healthy fish, then either can be ok, with Cardinals usually being slightly hardier. But yes, it can be difficult sometimes to get them acclimated and healthy. That's how fishkeeping is. I always buy 12 or more, hoping to get 8-10 to survive.
Have lots of decorations/plants, correct maintenance, proper acclimation and nutrition
