High Schools in Bathurst, NSW. Which schools are affordable and decent in Bathurst. Also what are the better areas to live in?

We have two girls, one in primary and one in high school. My husband has applied for a job in Lithgow, we have been looking to live in Bathurst and we have never been there before. We will be renting a house there. So schools, rental areas etc. some advice would be appreciated. Thanks

There are some good private colleges in Bathurst both boys and girls. If you havent driven on country roads before I would seriously rethink the Lithgow/Bathurst commute. The road is often closed during winter for several hours in the morning due to ice on the roads and in winter the kangaroos come out to the roads from 4.30pm onwards so you have to be driving aware of potential hazards. If you are not used to those sorts of conditions then it is a bit hazardous.

All State schools are essentially free and very affordable. School fees are only required for private schools. Lithgow High School and Bathurst High School are both State schools. There are public primary schools in Lithgow and Bathurst as well.

Seriously he is working in Lithgow and you want to live in Bathurst. I used to work in Lithgow and no way was i gunna live in bathurst. Better places would be Hartley,Blackheath,Oberon,Katoomba but also lithgow is a good place to live as well. Lithgow and Katoomba high school are decent schools. Also if you are renting Lithgow is way cheaper than Bathurst and think of the cash saved from the hubbys commute
