How to Create Carbon Monoxide Gas?

Before you even suggest it - I am not suicidal, and this is also not an underhand way of disguising a suicidal frame of mind to achieve information. I am researching mental health for EPQ (a research project you can do in the British school system). I understand the chemical methods - through zinc metal and calcium carbonate or formic acid and concentrated sulfuric acid, but what about 'home' methods such incomplete combustion and charcoal?
