Hydrostatic Force question?

The two sides of a v-shaped water trough are hinged to each other at the bottom where they meet making an angle of 45 degrees with the ground from both sides .Each side is 0.75 m wide and the two parts are held together by a cable and turnbuckle placed every 6 m along the length of the trough. Calculate the tension in each cable when the trough is filled to the rim.

I'm using F=pghA, but I keep getting an answer that is nowhere close to the given answer of 5510 N

This looks like a Calculus problem, but the simple geometry

succumbs to Algebra. The trough is a square bisected by a diagonal.

From the image below, if the sides are .75m the cross sectional

    area is (.75m)²/2 = .28125m²

    The water's depth is √2/2 × .75m ≈ .53m which is half

    the diagonal.

Both water pressure and surface area are linear

    with depth.

    .53m/2 × 9,807kg/m³ = 2,599 N

    The trough's area is 6m×.75m = 4.5m²

    Total force 4.5×2,599 N/m² = 11,695 Newtons

Are you sure the answer is 5,510?
