Were the Jeep Grand Cherokees ever available with the famous 4.0 L engines in them?

    Yes, the 1993 to 1998 standard engine was the 4.0 L inline 6. Optional was the 5.2 V8. The 4.0L engine was also available from 1999 to 2004 on vehicles sold outside North America.

    Charlie is right, the base engine in the GK was the 4.0L from 93-2004. After that they switched to the V6.
