What do sun signs mean?

Think about the physical solar system. All the matter and energy (heat, light) come from the sun. Without the sun we would not exist.

Keeping that in mind, your sun sign is a "no brainer" It just IS. Some astrologers think you may not even be aware of your sun sign working out it's energy. It's so inevitable; like the physical sun rising every day.

One way to look at it, is like fuel. Your sun sign indicates where you draw a lot of energy. So, if you are an Aries; you have a lot of energy to be yourself. If you are a Gemini you have a lot of energy to think, speak, move about. If you are a Scorpio you have a lot of energy to feel emotions, look deeply into life . . and so on.

You may "heat up" in the area of life indicated by your sun sign. A Libra gets excited about relationships and debate and fairness. A Capricorn gets excited about being the best they can be at something and making a success out of their life.

In the sign and house where your sun is; you can "shed light" on those particular issues. It's easier for you to understand those things than it is for others who are not that sun sign.

It's like this: If your life were an actual Greek "myth" your rising sign would be the journey you take, your sun would represent the hero, and your moon represents your emotional nature.

Asking a astrology/fairytale question in the astronomy/space section only leads to derision, you would cause less offence if you got the living members of the jackson five to perform at a Ku Klux Klan meeting.

The Sun is depicting our outer appearance, or how we present ourselves to other people. It is our as to speak façade.
