    Other times, other habits.The operative word is WERE and not ARE.

    However, there were a cast of women who were considered very important citizens but still not equal to men even though they achieved many marvellous feats. They were called heteares- courtesans and they were the brains behind some important ideas.

    It wasn't just in Ancient Greece , nearly everywhere in the world was like that , and many places still discriminate against women today .
