Well no one can say for sure.. However if he was in Christ I can't imagine he'd have done this, and so that would leave the likelihood that he did not know Christ as his saviour.. And so dying in that state, yes, he'd be in hell, but again, only God knows his heart, but based on his actions I'd say likely to be in hell

There is no firery hell of eternal torment. There is death which the Bible describes as being like sleep. The Bible tells us there will be a resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous. As hard as it is for us to understand, it is likely this man will be resurrected -it is Jesus who will judge his real heart. This man was mentally ill and whilst that is no comfort to those who lost family, it will be not be our decision, thank goodness.

He was only following his 'free will', just like the passengers..
