    Divide the nonagon radially into 9 identical isosceles triangles.

    each vertex angle is 360/9 = 40°, and so base angle is 70°.

    Let h and b be the height and base of a triangle.

    h = 14sin(70°)

    b = 28cos(70°)

    area of triangle = bh/2 ≅ 54 in²

    area of nonagon 9·54 ≅ 485.95
