It seems many of the farming conglomerates are trying to push plans through to restrict the average citizen from growing it's own food.?

Money justifies everything in the Corporatocracy, and the biggest Corporatocracy at this moment is the USA.

The puppet government will not protect the interests of the common folk, it will only serve its master - the big corporations. The most ludicrous laws are made for them, including those that penalize growing foods privately in your own backyard. And, let's be honest, when the common folk can't even grow their own foods in their own backyard, then they have truly become slave to the Corporatocracy.

There are three things you need to do to regain your right to food as citizen of your country:

The first thing you need to do is get rid of the patent on every genetically modified crop (GMC). Because there's so much contamination between normal crops and GMCs, the GMC-seeds will basically drop into your garden via the air. And, because these GMCs are patented, you will need to pay the big companies for every single GMC that grows in your garden. Which means that the companies behind GMCs can basically sue everyone and their mother who tries to grow anything at all in their backyard. So, yes, get rid of the patents on GMCs!

The second thing you need to do is to destroy all the GMCs altogether. Burn them, eradicate them, flush them down your toilet. GMCs are dangerous for several reasons:

First off, studies have shown that some of these GMCs are DANGEROUS for your health when you consume them. Secondly, the majority of them are actually less nutritious than their natural counterparts. And furthermore, they also destroy the very ecosystem in which you live, because they're inefficient with both water, soil and light, and need more pesticide to grow.

Therefore, destroy all GMCs!

The last thing you need to do is make a national law which states that no crop shall EVER be patented, be they natural, genetically modified, or otherwise. Food comes from nature, and nature belongs to all of us; no one must ever get a monopoly on nature!

This is the only way to ensure that the Corporatocracy will never gain control over your food again (unless they use guns to defy the law, that is...)

When you think about it the liberals who make a big stink when a few people get sick from food borne illnesses are the biggest drivers of government regulations requiring certain procedures to be followed before a small farmer or individual can sell food to others locally.

Farming conglomerates as you call them could care less if you have a garden because they know the average person is just too lazy to go through the work of growing their own food. They know society has won the battle for them.

I like the law but we will be waiting 30 years for them to pass it.

Tomatoes don't taste natural anymore. I won't eat pork anymore and who knows what Fukashima is doing to the fish? Once in a great while I have a small steak, top quality though. I am thoroughly disgusted that we can sell our health to Monsanto. They are evil and need to be destroyed. They will not succumb to fines and rules, they do what they want.
