So how was ECW doing during the Monday Night wars?

You always hear about WCW and WWF's Attitude Era but hardly anything from ECW. How were they doing during the Monday Night Wars until they went bankrupt? Anything memorable?

In comparison to WWF and WCW: terrible, absolutely terrible. although they had just gotten on PPV, they couldn't find a cable network to pick them up until 1999 before the agreement ended in 2000, only a year later (this was at the end of the Wars too).

They could barely get advertising, pay their own employees, and their biggest events could only just compete with a regular episode of RAW or Nitro. As awesome as ECW was, it failed for a reason. If it was successful, it would still be around today. The reason you don't hear about them, is because compared to the WWF Gods and WCW Titans clashing every week, ECW was like the lesser known Greek heroes you read about and go "Oh yeah that awesome guy, completely forgot about him!"

Nevertheless ECW was responsible for the Attitude Era and WWF's victory, and is still more awesome than either of the two

    Well

    Well

Extreme Championship Wrestling was on syndication on the weekend late nights as in anywhere between Midnight to 2 am in some markets. but in Florida on the Sunshine Network.....at the time it was a Fox Sports Net affiliate it was on a regular time slot at Midnight on Saturday, if memory serves and this was like 1995! In a world where WWF was promoting Duke the Dumpster Droscere, Doink the Clown, Adam Bomb......ECW had Raven, Taz, Sabu. In a world where WCW had Hogan fight random "monster of the week" or the Dungeon of Doom......ECW had the Dudley Boys, New Jack, Tommy Dreamer.

ECW kept pro wrestling alive while the "big boys" decided to push their own personal agendas.
