Started taking the pill before period - will I still get my period?

Not sure if this is a stupid question or not so bear with me!

I started taking the pill (Rigevidon) 11 days ago, a few days before my period was due.

I've since read that you normally start it during or after your period but I told the doctor where I was at in my cycle and he said to start taking it the same day it was prescribed, so I did.

My period usually comes on around the 1st or 2nd of the month but can be a little irregular. It's not the 6th and its still not come, is that because I'm on the pill or because I could be pregnant?

Should I expect to have a period about now or not?

you do not get a period on the pill. the pill works by flooding you with high enough levels of hormones to trick your body into thinking it is already pregnant thereby stopping ovulation , what you get is a withdrawal bleed when you stop taking the pill, not a period. if you are going to stop for a week or take a week of placebos that is when you will have your withdrawal bleed. if you do not stop you do not get a withdrawal bleed
