  • Started taking the pill before period - will I still get my period?

Not sure if this is a stupid question or not so bear with me!

I started taking the pill (Rigevidon) 11 days ago, a few days before my period was due.

I've since read that you normally start it during or after your period but I told the doctor where I was at in my cycle and he said to start taking it the same day it was prescribed, so I did.

My period usually comes on around the 1st or 2nd of the month but can be a little irregular. It's not the 6th and its still not come, is that because I'm on the pill or because I could be pregnant?

Should I expect to have a period about now or not?

  • "Daydream nightmares"?

I quite frequently get what I can only describe as "daydream nightmares". So just bad daydreams, but I am fully awake and fully aware that I'm dreaming. I've read about sleep paralysis and it's not that because I remain fully functional.

Like for example, while I was at work last night I imagined my friend running into the shop that I work in, crying because a friend of ours had killed himself. Although I knew it wasn't real, that I was only imagining it, it made me panic, and I found myself looking at the door frequently, waiting for her to come running in bringing the bad news.

Other things I have daydreamed include my sister dying, my parents getting cancer, myself getting cancer, and an odd but terrifying recurring one of me having a miscarriage (I have not, or never have been pregnant).

They affect me for days afterwards, make me lose sleep, lose my appetite, become quiet and withdrawn, and filled with deep sadness for a few days. All I can think about is the nightmare, and what I would do if my imagined scenarios happened, and how I could stop them.

Seems like a huge overreaction to stupid scenarios played out by my over active imagination. But I can't help it.

Is this something everyone experiences? Something I just have to deal with? Something I can do something about? Something worth seeing a doctor about, or would they laugh me out of their office?

  • Different things to do in London? (18 year olds?)?

Hey! So me and my best friend are off to London for a few days at the start of July and we're looking for ideas of what to do while we're down there. We've both been before and done all the regular tourist stuff so don't suggest all the regular sightseeing, london eye, madame toussauds etc!! We're going to see Punchdrunk's Drowned Man while we're down there so we probably won't want to go to the theatre again. That's all we have planned so any suggestions welcome. We've both just turned 18 so we thought it would be nice to go out somewhere nice for cocktails etc, but not sure where. What else can we do?

  • Planning a holiday to Bulgaria and Greece?

Me and my friend are planning on going on holiday this summer. We're 18, and this will be my first time abroad but not hers.

We have a friend from Sofia, Bulgaria, and thought we'd go visit her, but we've heard the beaches are to die for, so we'd want to go there too. We thought while we were there we might as well get a train to a bordering country, such as Greece or Turkey.

Obviously thats a lot of planning, and since I've never been abroad before I'm unsure how to plan it!

So... tips please? places to go, sites to find hotels/hostels, things to see, things to consider...?

    Thanks! :)

  • Forgotten iPhone restrictions passcode - how can i find it out?

I got an iPhone 5s today, and I'm giving my old iPhone 4 to my dad, so i need to erase all the settings on it. I went Settings> General > Reset > Erase all content and settings

It's asking me to put in my restrictions passcode... I have no idea what this is, and have used 8 attempts to put in things it could be, like 0000, 1234 etc. Nothing has worked. Is there a way to get around this so i can restore the phone and give it to my dad??

    Thanks :)

  • My friend tried to kill herself - why can't I get over it months later?

My friend, not a best friend but still a close friend, attempted suicide nearly 3 months ago at a house party I was at. We were all a bit drunk and she took an overdose. A friend who was thankfully sober drove her to A&E. She was fine in the end, but it was terrifying. She has been suffering with depression for years and this was her sixth attempt to take her own life.

I can't stop thinking about it. I have dreams, both at night and daydreams when my mind wanders, imagining that it had been a successful attempt, imagining going to her funeral, imagining trying to comfort my friends. It's always playing on my mind, like when I'm at work I keep on imagining having to ask for a day off to attend the funeral.

Surely this is a really exaggerated reaction? Why can't I move on and forget about this?

  • How can I make this more realistic - what would actually happen?

Hi, I'm writing a book and trying to get some information that will help me write a bit of it.

My main character faints while in hospital visiting a friend and wakes up in a hospital bed. She will find out that she is pregnant. A few weeks before this she was violently raped (resulting in the pregnancy). But i've relised that this isn't a very realistic scenario. I could just make it that she suspects it herself, and does a pregnancy test then goes to the doctors to make sure?

The thing is, she was drunk and drugged and has no memory of being raped, so i need her to be told that she was raped, or at least that (from the tearing and bruising) it was a possibility. So how could this happen?

I was going to make it that the doctor (a female) examined her genitals and saw the tearing and bruising from the rape, which would result in awkward conversation where the doctor gently asks if she has been sexually abused. But would a doctor even be looking down there even if the patient was pregnant? Would she be checking that everything was fine with the pregnancy since it would be very early or what?

Thanks for your help, any information would be appreciated.

  • What would actually happen in this situation?

Hi, I'm writing a book and trying to get some information that will help me write a bit of it.

My main character faints while in hospital visiting a friend and wakes up in a hospital bed. She will find out that she is pregnant. A few weeks before this she was violently raped (resulting in the pregnancy). So I have a few questions about that:

    1) would the doctors take a blood test from her while she was unconscious or would they have to wait until she woke up and have her consent?

    2) I was going to make it that the doctor (a female) examined her genitals and saw the tearing and bruising from the rape, which would result in awkward conversation where the doctor gently asks if she has been sexually abused. But would a doctor even be looking down there even if the patient was pregnant? Would she be checking that everything was fine with the pregnancy since it would be very early or what?

  • Can doctors tell if someone has been raped a few weeks after?

This is for a novel I'm writing. Would a doctor be able to tell that a person had been raped, or suspect they had, even say 3 weeks after? Or if not, how long after? Like would there be tearing etc?

    Thanks

  • My book has hit the 20,000 word mark!?

So i'm in my lates teens, and i've written since i can remember, but i really believe in this project and have been working on it for a while, although these past few weeks i've really came up with tons of ideas, and have a very clear idea of where the storyline is heading. I've just written past the 20,000 word mark, which i find very exciting, as it's by far the most i've managed to acomplish!

But, i'm realising that the book, when finished, will only be around 50,000 words. This is quite short for a novel, right? It's probably more of a young adult book than an adult one, but even still, it's a bit on the short side. Would you agree with this, and if so, does anyone have any tips on how to flesh it out a little?

What songs remind you of The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern? Or if you haven't read it, what songs make you think of a circus in general?

  • IPhone/IPod touch - What exactly happens when you reset?

How do you wipe an iPhone or iPod touch? What exactly happens when you go: settings > general > reset > reset all settings/ erase all content and settings??? Which one (if either) takes you right back to the start, as if you'd just bought it and it asks you to set up, insert your apple ID etc.?

  • How do I change my iTunes settings on my iPhone?

So I got an iPhone 4 last week and we set it up using my dad's apple ID. My dad and I share an iTunes account but have desperate apple IDs, however I couldn't remember mine so I used dads, assuming it would be fine since we share an iTunes account anyway. (I already had an iPod touch before I got my iPhone). But now my dad and I (dad has an iPod touch) share notes, internet bookmarks, contacts etc. So that when one of us ads or deletes a contact the same thing happens on dads iPod.

How do I fix this? Do I need to create a whole new iTunes account, copy all my music to the new account, then completely reset my iPhone and sync it to the new account. That seems an awful lot of hassle, is there any other way?????

Also, please explain it simply, I'm not amazing with computers :L

    Thanks

  • What little gifts are on your list this christmas?

It's the little things that make Christmas, and that includes presents!

What little things would make you smile this Christmas? For me, I would love a pack of Dutch Blitz cards. Also, what small things do you like to give? I like to give old fashioned sweets with a present!

  • Books for a friend who loves sport?

My friend's birthday is soon and she loves sport, especially swimming. I thought I might get her a book on sport as she also loves to read. The trouble is I have no interest in sport so I don't know if any books out that I could get her. Are there any good books about sport, not so much factual ones but more funny ones?? Or any recent biographies??

    Thanks for your help
