How can i make this more realistic - what would actually happen?

Hi, I'm writing a book and trying to get some information that will help me write a bit of it.

My main character faints while in hospital visiting a friend and wakes up in a hospital bed. She will find out that she is pregnant. A few weeks before this she was violently raped (resulting in the pregnancy). But i've relised that this isn't a very realistic scenario. I could just make it that she suspects it herself, and does a pregnancy test then goes to the doctors to make sure?

The thing is, she was drunk and drugged and has no memory of being raped, so i need her to be told that she was raped, or at least that (from the tearing and bruising) it was a possibility. So how could this happen?

I was going to make it that the doctor (a female) examined her genitals and saw the tearing and bruising from the rape, which would result in awkward conversation where the doctor gently asks if she has been sexually abused. But would a doctor even be looking down there even if the patient was pregnant? Would she be checking that everything was fine with the pregnancy since it would be very early or what?

Thanks for your help, any information would be appreciated.

Update:

EDIT: she isn't a virgin. I know that makes it more difficult but that fact is also fairly significant to the story

There is no reason a doctor would be examining there just because a test came back positive for pregnancy, and surely if she was battered she would already be pretty sure what happened on that night she can't remember.

Perhaps there is no evidence of the rape, plus she has been sexually abstinent for the last year, so when she finds out she is pregnant she is confused, as it is impossible, and starts to wonder about that night she went to the bar and can't remember. Perhaps she needs to return there, see if the staff recall anything.

Maybe she wasn't abstinent and assumes her boyfriend/ex-boyfriend is the father, which he may or may not go along with. Maybe he demands a DNA test to prove it is not his, and now she really starts questioning that night nine months ago that she can't remember...

If she was that badly damaged by the rape I would think she would feel it herself and then go to the doctor wondering what had happened if she has no memory of it.

Well, if you make it that the main character thought she was a virgin, then that would give a doctor a pretty good reason to go poking around.

i imagine that is unquestionably plausible and likely occurred to someone at one factor. I say flow for it. i imagine that is a good idea and that i'd write some memories in accordance with some previous ideas I had from at the same time as i became 9 or ten.
