Why do my turtles bask in their 10 gal tank, and not their 55 gal tank?

They only bask in their 10 gallon tank. The light is 8 inches away from their basking ramp.

In their 55 gallon tank, the water is 79 degrees, and the light is about a foot away from their basking dock.

They refuse to bask on the dock.

Do they not like the dock? What's the deal? any suggestions?

How long have they been in the 55-gallon tank? It takes a couple of weeks or so for them to get acclimated and feel safe to exposing themselves to predators (like you) by basking.

They bask in the light so just move it closer in the larger tan . :)
