Will re-dyeing my hair after bleaching make it softer?

I recently bleached my hair for the first time and put a semi-permanent pink over the top, but it feels like straw! Every time I wash it, I have to leave conditioner in it for over an hour to get it to be as soft as it was before.

I used to use box-dyes on it (L'Oreal etc) every 8+ weeks, and it was perfectly fine. This is my first time using a semi-permanent.

If I put another permanent dye over the top of this, will this make it softer? Or will it remain feeling like crap until I cut it all off?

3 minute miracle by Aussie works GREAT for my hair (damaged from years of dying) It is cheap but the only thing I have found that works for me. Make sure to comb the conditioner throught your hair with a comb, not just fingers, it does make a difference. Also, don't wash your hair everyday, it will dry out more. I wash mine 2-3 times a week and condition everytime. Another great product is ReNu hair mask, by Nuskin, it's pretty pricey, but works well. you can find it on ebay. If you wanna go an inexpensive way, mix olive oil, mashed avocado, honey and mayo, comb through hair, put a shower cap on and leave on over night, wash and condition hair in the morning. I use to do that twice a week and it helped too. I used a whole avocado then random amounts for the other ingredients lol Good luck!

That's not true at all about dying it a darker shade...

the semi-permanent colour isn't the problem, the problem is the bleaching. Bleaching basically takes all the colour pigment from your hair (therefore turning it white). Bleaching is very damaging to your hair and it will make it dry and frizzy. My advice is to put a permanent colour of your choice in, though preferably a colour close to your natural colour so you wont have to dye it again for a while. Then use hot oil treatments, conditioning treatments, drink a lot of water, avoid washing your hair unless its necessary, try to avoid using heat at all and get as much of the damaged hair cut off as you can. Good luck!:)
