Question about shipping labels?

This is definitely a dumb question, but where do you place a printed shipping label on a square box? I'd prefer not to place it on the top because that is where the flaps come together and I don't want to risk having the label accidentally ripped off. But will the package still be accepted by the USPS if I place the label on any of the four sides? Thanks!

Normally it does go on the top, because that is usually the area with the most flat surface space, other then the bottom. You do not want to place it on the bottom, as this will put everything inside upside down.

In my opinion there is more of a chance of the label coming off if you place it on the sides of the box. When they pack the trucks for either UPS or USPS those boxes are sometimes jammed beside each other very tightly. The label can then possibly be peel off while they are loading the truck. If it is on top, the possibility of it coming off is very slim.

I have worked in shipping and receiving in the past, and always placed the labels on the top.

Don't set it on the middle of the flap line, do it above or below on the solid cardboard.

If your flaps are being torn off, something odd is going on.
