Christians or past Christians: Do you believe you were adequately taught on the bible? If not is this why you left Christianity?

To some degree, I was taught by many good people in pieces. To another, I wasn't taught very much at all by people who should have known better. God may blame them in the end, but I don't. I believe my salvation and sanctification are my own responsibility. We're all just here to help each other out. True Christians blame themselves.

Edit:
The above was the practical and personal answer. If you are going for a more abstract interview on the state of the church, I would say that the sermons I hear at some churches are really informative, spanning the whole of the Bible. Calvary Chapels are really good at that, but they lack in other areas. I've been to churches where the entire sermon is basically a bunch of anecdotes about the speaker's personal life with a single scripture tossed in from time to time. I left a church for just that reason.
I'm still strong in my faith, and I have no problem feeding myself. I read the Bible daily, and this is my resource for doing so:

Your question makes little sense. Either you're asking current Christians if they believe they were adequately taught, or you're asking former Christians... which is it?
IF it is former Christians, my answer is yes, I feel I was adequately taught the bible -- as well as having read it on my own. It's because I was taught, and did read, and saw how other Christians actually behaved that I left it. I have no interest in spending time with hypocrites.

I left Christianity after
1) I studied the Bible
2) I saw what had become of Christianity since the 1980s.

I was not adequately taught about the Bible. I left the religion when I started to learn far more about it. As long as I just got the standard dumbed down, nicey-nice version the church was handing out I could continue to believe.

A person who goes by "punch," stated that he "doesn't believe in magic." I always thought magic was something that magicians performed. Someone who was crucified beyond recognition for he, and everyone else has nothing to do with magic. I grew up in the Catholic religion, in which I wasn't adequately taught the bible. At the lowest moment in my life, I called out to Jesus and asked him to be my Lord. My desire to read the bible grew from there, and I never looked back. Jesus Christ is the Lord of Lords, and the King of Kings!

My mother still reads the Bible outloud every day. I can't have been more brainwashed if I was wiped into the obedience to reading the word of God. I left Christianity for being over taught as well as for personal reasons.

No, I don't feel I was adequately taught. If I had been, I probably would have left the faith sooner.

I'm a Christian and intend to remain so, but I was inadequately taught. I've been educating myself for years now, erratically. The net has been a big help.
