And I entitled to file a claim against my employer?

Several times my hours have been incorrect, I've been paid late, and today was the second time my $40 paycheck bounced. I work two days a week as a hostess at a local restaurant with one other location nearby granted I am 17yrs so idk if I am eligible because of my age to charge my employer and receive the bounce fees and also just plain illegal fees. Where can I start? I will be giving my notice asap

Find the wage and hour division of your state's labor department and file a complaint there. They will take it from there. They are the ones that enforce this.

You may have a private right of action if your bank charged you a returned check fee; you should be able to be reimbursed for that. But you generally could not recover from them overdraft fees for you writing checks on your deposit before it had time to clear; that is on you.

They're having problems paying you and yet you think you can force them to pay you? Go for it babe. Find out how quick you don't get your money. They may be on a road to claiming bankruptcy.

Hours aren't that big of a deal. Mistakes are made. BUT, getting paid late and bounced checks are a sign of a business going down the drain cuz they ain't got no money.

Spend your energy looking for another job.

    Call your state's labor board.
