I received my ACT results today with a comp score of 28 and am in the IB Program. Is it likely I will be accepted into Univ of Michigan?
Im interested in being accepted into University of Michigan, but unsure about my chances.A 28 is low (scores to be accepted are 28 and up), however I am in the IB so im not sure how that would add up to colleges.

The University of Michigan, for some reason, tends to put a lot of weight on extracurriculars. A friend of mine had a 31 on the ACT and almost a 4.0 GPA and didn't get in while another friend had a 28 but a ton of extracurriculars and got into their nursing program. Your ACT alone (while fantastic!) is probably not going to get you in. If you've been involved in a good amount of things in school and in your community, you'll have a fighting chance. Definitely give it a try! I would just make sure to have a few back up schools. One thing to consider is applying to UM-Flint- you will definitely get in there and will likely get a full ride scholarship. (this is where I go, fyi) I've talked to a few professors that have taught both at UM-Flint and Ann Arbor, and the curriculum is almost exactly the same. When you graduate, your diploma will not say UM-Flint; it will just say University of Michigan. The main thing Ann Arbor has over UM-Flint is the amount of research it does- if you're thinking of going into research, it's probably your better bet. Otherwise, UM-Flint has smaller class sizes, is always taught by a professor (Ann Arbor is almost exclusively taught by grad students while the professors are holed up in the aforementioned research labs), and is way cheaper. I realize it doesn't have the prestige of UM-Ann Arbor, but it's something to keep in mind, especially if you don't get into your first choice. I applied to Ann Arbor with a 32 ACT and 4.0 GPA and didn't get in. So back ups are a good idea!
Sorry for the long answer, and good luck!

First of all, most kids would jump for joy to get a 28 on the ACT, so take a moment and be proud of yourself. Regarding Michigan, it is really impossible to give you a reassuring answer. Yes, they will take into consideration the difficulty of the IB program and will look at your GPA as well as your test scores, read your essays and letters of recommendations and try to figure out how you stack up against all the other applicants.
I would suggest that you take a few minutes soon to figure out what you missed on the ACT and decide whether or not you think you can do significantly better if you were to take it again early next fall. If you could get a 30 or above, it would certainly improve your chances.
Good luck. There are lots of great schools that would be delighted to have you.

If your IB tests are very good you have a chance.
It also depends on your race, sadly.
