Would the world be a safer place if the Warsaw Pact still existed?

I mean... give Putin political control of Poland, Ukraine and the like, and leave the West to lead its own agenda.

    idk. I mean, the soviet union never attacked the west. and as far as I know, they never had any plan to suddenly overrun europe.

    the iron curtain seemed more a knee-jerk response to the inevitable aggression coming out of europe. Germany in particular. Much as it is today.
