That means that the program froze. If you're having that with a few different programs, as you wrote, that means that the computer is slow.
Start with cleaning out the computer. Uninstall any programs that you don't need. Be careful not to uninstall anything that you know what it is. If you have any doubt about something, leave it
Then remove any unnecessary toolbars and junk from your browsers. Every toolbar, without exception, has some performance impact on the browser.
Then clean the computer with CCleaner. If you don't already have it, download it from here: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download.
I'll write another 2 locations that can be emptied.
1) C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\. Delete all contents.
2) C:\Windows\Installer\$PatchCache$\Managed. Delete all contents. DO NOT delete the folder itself.
Run a full AntiVirus scan. Make sure it is updated before you start the scan.
Reboot computer.
If the above procedure didn't help, it's time for a new computer.

Try opera, at other side it could be your wifi/internet connection being interrupted for some reason, call your internet provider, and complain your problem, I'm sure they'll help you.
*EDIT*
I think I misunderstood the question, if you mean the program itself getting stopped working, probably you're using very weak computer, you need to upgrade it, or you've gotten virus in your computer, try disabling every program in task manager that takes too much cpu/memory, click ctrl+alt delete keys to open task manager, in worst case, you need to reinstall windows.

Yahoo Answers is not compatible with a lot of things. This is a recurring problem with many devices. It's them, not you.

low memory on your computer's hard drive... try uninstalling applications that are not being used
you can also try deleting the history of your web browser and clearing all cache.. make sure you have saved all your important data or bookmarks on your browser....
